The Minister of Digitalisation and Public Administration, Lulëzon Jagxhiu, participated in a meeting organised by the UK–Kosovo Tech Hub at the Tech Park Prishtina, a new collaboration platform between technology companies from Kosovo and the United Kingdom that was launched last month.

Together with the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Kosovo, Mr. Jonathan Hargreaves, as well as representatives of technology companies, Minister Jagxhiu took part in an open discussion on the challenges and opportunities facing the ICT sector. The discussion focused on ways to further support the sector’s development, enhance the competitiveness of Kosovar companies, and expand their presence in international markets, with particular emphasis on the UK market.

With ICT service exports having increased by 455% over the past five years, the sector represents one of the most dynamic pillars of Kosovo’s economic development. The Government remains committed to supporting this potential through investments in human capital, the advancement of digital infrastructure, the creation of a favourable environment for innovation, and the development of policies that promote the growth of the digital economy.

The discussion also highlighted the importance of continued joint engagement between public institutions and the private sector in promoting Kosovo internationally as a competitive destination for technology investment and partnerships. Participants also discussed the significance of Kosovo’s membership in the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), which will facilitate cross-border payments, reduce the costs of financial transactions, and contribute to Kosovo’s deeper integration into the European market. Minister Jagxhiu commended the UK–Kosovo Tech Hub initiative for its contribution to strengthening ties between technology companies in Kosovo and the United Kingdom, creating new opportunities for cooperation, investment, and economic growth.
