Minister Lulëzon Jagxhiu welcomed the Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of Japan in Kosovo, Mr. Hiroyasu Tanigaki, with whom he held a friendly discussion on deepening cooperation between Kosovo and Japan. During the meeting, Minister Jagxhiu and Mr. Tanigaki discussed the Minister’s fruitful visit to Japan, as well as the planned visit of Japanese businesses to Kosovo during the fall of this year.
Mr. Tanigaki assessed that this visit will be of particular importance for strengthening economic cooperation, as it creates the opportunity for Japanese businesses to get to know the business environment in Kosovo and the potential that our country offers.
Within the framework of the commitments to advance economic relations between the two countries, Kosovo’s participation in “Expo Osaka 2025” was also highlighted. It was emphasized that this international presentation of Kosovo has enabled Japanese companies to create a clearer picture of the country’s economic and investment potential.
During the meeting, the safe and favourable environment that Kosovo offers for doing business was assessed as an important element for Japanese investors and businesses. Also, a mutual interest in expanding cooperation was expressed, especially in the information and communication technology sector.
On this occasion, Minister Jagxhiu thanked the Japanese Government for its continued support to Kosovo and for its willingness to further advance the partnership between the two countries. In particular, he expressed deep gratitude for the support for Kosovo’s digital transformation through two grants that Kosovo has received under the “Quality Infrastructure Investment” program, which is managed by the World Bank and financed by the Government of Japan.
