Ministry of Digitalization and Public Administration marked the International Public Service Day

The event was attended by the acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, Minister of Digitalization and Public Administration, Lulëzon Jagxhiu, as well as the Head of Cooperation at the EU Office in Kosovo, Hubert Perr, together with representatives of institutions and international partners.

In his speech, Prime Minister Kurti emphasized that public administration is the face of the state vis-à-vis the citizen and that trust in institutions is built through the daily work of public servants, also appreciating the importance of reforms and digitalization as pillars of a modern administration.

Minister Jagxhiu underlined that public administration reform and digital transformation must go hand in hand, aiming at a more efficient, professional and citizen-oriented administration, emphasizing that civil servants remain the main engine of this transformation.

While Mr Perr praised the essential role of civil servants in the functioning of institutions and in the state’s relationship with citizens, emphasizing that “the heart of public service remains civil servants”, as well as the importance of continuing reforms in governance and public services.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Digitalization and Public Administration, Flurije Durmishi, delivered the closing speech, thanking the attendees for their participation and contribution to this event.

This day was also marked with the ceremony of awarding recognition to distinguished civil servants, appreciating their dedication, professionalism and contribution to strengthening public administration and providing quality services to citizens.

Congratulations to all public servants for their work, integrity and dedication in serving the citizens and the Republic of Kosovo. International Public Service Day, 23 June is marked every year with various activities to recognize and promote the role of public servants in building efficient, transparent and citizen-oriented institutions.
