Bilateral meeting between the Minister of Digitalization and Public Administration of Kosovo, Mr Lulëzon Jagxhiu, and the Deputy Minister of Science, Information and Communication Technology of the Republic of Korea, Ryu Je Myung.
Minister of Digitalization and Public Administration, Lulëzon Jagxhiu, within the framework of his visit to Korea, together with the Ambassador of Kosovo to Japan, Sabri Kiçmari, held a bilateral meeting with the Vice Minister of Science and Information and Communications Technology of the Republic of Korea, Ryu Je Myung.
The meeting confirmed the friendly relations between the two countries and the common will for cooperation in the field of digital transformation and artificial intelligence. Minister Jagxhiu thanked the Republic of Korea for its support in the development of innovation and artificial intelligence in Kosovo, through the Korean Green Growth Trust Fund, from which Kosovo was announced this year as the winner of a grant of 700,000 US dollars.
Deputy Minister Ryu highlighted the ongoing developments in artificial intelligence infrastructure in Korea, the newly approved legislation promoting the development of AI data centres, and Korea’s commitments to the AI Global Hub initiative.
Minister Jagxhiu presented Kosovo’s journey in the field of digital transformation and institutional commitments to implement artificial intelligence in government systems, build data infrastructure, and develop human and institutional capacities in this area. He also highlighted the rapid growth of the tech sector in Kosovo and the potential for cooperation with Korean industry.
This meeting emphasized the Republic of Korea’s approach to the comprehensive development of artificial intelligence, with a focus on ensuring that the benefits of AI are global and accessible to all countries. In this spirit, the Korean side expressed its readiness to continue cooperation with Kosovo in developing national capacities for AI.
The Ministry of Science and ICT and its subordinate agencies play a key role in the highly developed ecosystem of digitalization and innovation in Korea, therefore the opportunity to deepen cooperation through the exchange of experiences, knowledge and expertise was highly appreciated.
