This working meeting between Minister Jagxhiu and the Board of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic and Postal Communications (RAECP), discussed the priorities of the electronic communications sector, the advancement of legislation and the main projects that contribute to the digital development of the country.
The focus of the meeting was also the Reform Agenda within the framework of the European Union Growth Plan and the role of RAECP in fulfilling the obligations arising from this process. Kosovo’s progress in the field of 5G technology was assessed, where coverage has reached about 70% of the population, exceeding the objective set in the Reform Agenda.
The importance of the efficient use of the frequency band for the further expansion of the 5G network throughout the territory of Kosovo was also discussed, as well as the process of Kosovo’s integration into the EU Roam Like at Home area, which aims to eliminate roaming fees between Kosovo and European Union countries.
The RAEPC Board reconfirmed its readiness and commitment to take the necessary steps, within its competences, and to contribute to the fulfilment of the requirements related to this process.
Electronic communications remain a key driver of Kosovo’s digital transformation.
