Within the Paris Cyber Summit, the Minister of Digitalization and Public Administration, Lulëzon Jagxhiu, participated in a closed strategic session led by James Appathurai, NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Innovation, Hybrid and Cyber.
This session, organized in a format limited to attendance of a selected number of decision-makers, policymakers and international cybersecurity experts from Europe and US, focused on the increasing impact of cyber resilience on national security, collective defense, and resilience of states in the face of new security challenges.
The discussions addressed the evolution of hybrid threats, protection of critical infrastructure, impact of artificial intelligence on security and defense, as well as the need for closer coordination between state institutions, allies and the private sector to respond to the new challenges of the digital era.
During the discussion, Minister Jagxhiu emphasized Kosovo’s goal of joining NATO as soon as possible, assessing that this process would contribute to strengthening security and stability in the region.
He also underlined the importance of Kosovo’s inclusion in the mechanisms of the European Union and NATO in the field of cybersecurity even before full membership. Strengthening cybersecurity capacities and deepening cooperation with Euro-Atlantic partners remain strategic priorities for Kosovo, in terms of protection of institutions, critical infrastructure and citizens in an increasingly complex security environment
