The duties and responsibilities of the Department for Non-Governmental Organizations are:
To administer policies related to registration, financial reporting and cooperation with relevant institutions and NGOs;
To receive, analyse and take decisions on applications for registration of NGOs;
To receive, review and take decisions on requests for public benefit status (PBS) of NGOs;
To issue certificates of registration and PBS of NGOs;
To receive and analyse annual reports on the financial statements of NGOs;
To administer the database of registered NGOs.
